Koh Samui, situated off the East coast in Southern Thailand, is the largest of an archipel of more than 80 islands, for the greater part uninhabited, the Angthong Marine National Park (The Golden Bowl).
Tropical island lined with coconut palms and with white sandy beaches, Samui is connected to the mainland by boats and planes.
Initially, Koh Samui was labeled ' Paradise ' because of it's tropical tranquil beaches, friendly people and magnificent natural hinterland. Then the attraction become beach parties, open air night clubs and shopping.
Now the focus is on relaxation and good food.
Akwa Guesthouse is located at the 'quieter' end of Chaweng beach. Chaweng is the most popular beach on Koh Samui and is located on the eastern coast of the island with the coastline that is about 6 kilometers long.
The waters at Chaweng are clear and warm year round and are suitable for swimming, windsurfing, parasailing, snorkeling and other water sports. The two entry point to Koh Samui, airport and harbor, are only about 20 minutes relaxing drive from the doorsteps of Akwa Guesthouse.
